The live fee table says these Stream 1 figures include registration, study material and the Personal Contact Programme. They do not include the later public-examination charge, practical fee, extra subjects, tutoring, entrance preparation or travel. Dates and late fees vary by block, so use the NIOS Class 10/12 registration guide with the current prospectus rather than copying an old deadline.

1. Write the intended Class 10/12 subjects and post-school destination before opening the admission form.

MSBOS in Pune: the Class 10/12 trap

The Maharashtra State Board of Open Schooling is real and its portal is live. Its current centre-list PDF contains 39 Pune-district entries, including centres in Haveli, Pune City, Pune East, Pimpri-Chinchwad and other talukas. That proves a local contact network; it does not prove that every class level is accepting applications now.

The current public instructions discuss enrolment, contact camps, self-study books and evaluation for Classes 5 and 8. The latest dated registration notice we could verify opened a short window from 12 to 18 December 2025. An older official board booklet says Class 10 and 12 admissions were “proposed soon”; it is not a current Class 10/12 prospectus.

Therefore, do not build a Class 10/12 plan around MSBOS unless the board publishes a current intake for that exact level and confirms the subjects, assessment, marksheet and progression route in writing. For a younger learner considering Class 5 or 8, use only the live registration notice, current booklet and named official contact centre—not an old blog or coaching-centre promise.

Can a Pune homeschooler write MHT-CET?

Potentially, but “can register for the test” and “qualifies for the desired seat” are different questions. The updated MHT-CET 2026 brochure says Indian nationals who have passed or are appearing for HSC/Class 12 or an equivalent examination may appear. It defines HSC as Maharashtra HSC or an equivalent certificate from a recognised board.

The same brochure then separates Maharashtra State, All India, minority and other candidature types. For example, Type A links the recognised Maharashtra institution where SSC and HSC/10+2 were passed with Maharashtra birth or domicile; Type B uses a Maharashtra domicile connection where Type A does not apply. The brochure does not name every board in the appearance clause, so do not turn “equivalent recognised board” into an automatic NIOS guarantee for a particular admission.
