Start with language, number sense, movement and making. The best plan at this age is deliberately small: one official book shelf, a generous story library and far more conversation than screen time.
Use the current NCERT selector for the child's class and strongest language. Add a second language through songs and stories before adding another workbook.

Make maths tangible
Count, sort, measure and make patterns with household objects; use the official maths book to sequence ideas, not to fill every waking hour.

Build a read-aloud habit
Choose StoryWeaver by the child's actual reading level. Download three books at a time and reread favourites until the language feels easy.

Core shelf
Select the current Grade 1 NCERT language and Joyful Mathematics books from the official shelf.
Add only if useful
StoryWeaver Level 1–2 stories, one e-Jaadui Pitara activity and optional pre-reader CodeAI work each week.
Keep as evidence
Keep dated drawings, read-aloud notes, photos of number play and a few writing samples.
There are no NIOS Class 1 or Class 2 prescribed books
NIOS OBE starts with a terminal Level A equivalency at Class 3.
NIOS describes OBE Level A as equivalent to Class 3. Its publicly listed files are exemplar self-learning materials for that terminal level, not annual textbooks labelled Class 1 and Class 2. For these two years, use current NCERT Grade 1 or 2 books as a transparent reference spine and revisit the OBE decision before the Class 3 endpoint if certification matters.
Government and board material comes first. Supplements follow only where
they add practice, reading, experiments or creative work the core shelf does not provide.
Expand “How to use this at home” for a concrete first-session plan and an observable output.
