The School KFI is an alternate school serving families in India. The only Krishnamurti Foundation India school with a pre-primary intake — a day-boarding school in Chennai running LKG to Class 12, with mixed-age groups in Classes 2–7 and no uniform. It teaches the ICSE · ISC (CISCE) curriculum across lkg–class 12, with accreditation or pathway listed as CISCE — ICSE in Class 10, ISC in Class 12.
No tuition figure is published anywhere on the school's site, so families cannot compare cost without contacting the office. The school moved from Adyar to Thazhambur off OMR in 2018 — many directory listings still carry the old central-Chennai address, and one reviewer flagged a resulting four-hour daily commute. The most pointed criticism comes from a 2026 alumni review titled "Intellectual Subversion Behind a Progressive Image", arguing the classroom reality does not match the school's stated commitment to deep thinking. A separate 2021 essay in the Indian Cultural Forum argued that KFI schools' campus norms carry caste-inflected assumptions; alumni of this school published a rebuttal in the same forum.
