Aurinko Academy is an alternate school serving families in India. A progressive Bengaluru day school founded in 2011 that teaches a Cambridge academic framework through project work and a makerspace, then routes the board years through NIOS rather than an Indian mainstream board. It teaches the Cambridge International (academic framework · IGCSE) · NIOS (Secondary & Senior Secondary) curriculum across play group (age 2)–grade 10, with nios grades 11–12 through the associated pu college, with accreditation or pathway listed as Cambridge International registered centre (Reg. No. IA819, as published by the school). NIOS is used for the Secondary and Senior Secondary years. No CBSE, CISCE or Karnataka state board affiliation..
The public evidence on Aurinko is thin and does not line up. Directory sites variously label it ICSE, IGCSE and NIOS; the school itself publishes a Cambridge registration number (IA819) in its footer, which we could not confirm in Cambridge International’s public school finder, and states plainly that it has used NIOS for the Secondary and Senior Secondary years for the past five years. It holds no CBSE, CISCE or Karnataka state board affiliation, so a family leaving mid-stream is transferring out of an unaffiliated school. No fee figure, enrolment number or teacher:student ratio appears anywhere on the school’s own site — everything is on enquiry, and the fee range here comes from directories, not from Aurinko. The "more than 20 national awards" on the awards page are almost all commercial, pay-to-enter schemes (Brainfeed, Eldrok, Golden Aim, Rastriya Shiksha Ratan and similar), not statutory recognition, and the most recent is dated 2022. On reviews, the picture is genuinely poor: UrbanPro carries just two entries, a 2018 one-star complaint from a parent and a five-star reply posted under the founder’s own name, which drags the platform average to 2.0; Edustoke’s 4.2 rests on six votes and is attached to the PU College listing, while its main Aurinko page has none at all; Ezyschooling has none; and a Yellow Slate page showing 5.0 from five reviews renders every sub-score as zero with no review text, so we do not count it. Aggregators quote a 4.7 Google score, but neither Google Maps nor Google Search would return it at source, so we publish no rating. One more fit question, from the school’s own pages rather than any critic: the day opens with children barefoot facing the sun, chanting the Gayathri Mantra and The Great Invocation and performing "chakral exercises", and the curriculum is explicitly framed around the Universal Laws of Karma and the Gurukul tradition. That is a deliberate spiritual commitment, not a garnish, and families should decide about it before applying rather than after.

“The only independently-published parent review we could read at source, and it is a critical one. Writing in 2018, when the school was at its earlier Kudlu Village address, this parent complained of weak discipline, little formal testing and inadequate facilities, and warned other parents not to be "cheated by the management". Aurinko replied publicly on the same page under the founder’s name, disputing the account and saying no parent by that name had left the school, and invited the reviewer to visit. We include the exchange because it is the only independent parent record available, not because we can adjudicate it — and it is eight years old and predates the current campus.”
